Sumpahan Kum-kum Review

When I came home after work last Monday, I really felt like going to cinema... And after voicing out my intention to the boys, Nawfal said he wants to do homework, Ahyad...hurmmmmmmmmmm.. only Ayman seemed excited to follow. But I decided to go anyway..hehe.. {Sorry Atiya, belajar rajin2 ya kat uitm :) }

Since I didnt want to spend any extra money by doing unnecessary shopping, Space U8 was a perfect choice. There, your money wouldn't flow like water. Except for a few shops, a food court, a grocery store, and a cinema, the new mall is completely empty.

Nevertheless, Space U8 is very special to me. With no parking fee (yet) the possibility of queueing up for buying ticket at its MBO is very2 small if not zero :D

At first I intended to watch Underworld.. but considering that I had only managed to persuade Ayman to accompany me, I decided to watch Sumpahan Kum-kum.. It's MY decision, not his... ahahahaaa ..

hehe.. i did not force him to watch kum2, i persuaded him (again!) ;) (Poor Ayman, for having a kakak like this) It's OK, he'll be 8 this nov, it's just right to watch horror movie to build self confidence right? (haha.. abesla kalau mama tau).

Because the ghost heroine loves to say assalamualaikum..kum..kum..kum.. before she attacks. huahuahua..

Looking at the poster, i believe that kum2 may not be able to trigger your interest to watch. kan?

But seriously, this movie is soo cool! wuhhuww.. we screamed as if we were riding on the roller coaster. Yes, very true!

and.. There were many parts in the movies that forced us to watch through our fingers..

Unlike many Malay movies that I have watched, this movie doesn't make me feel stupid watching it.

Although some of the occurrences are questionable, they don't really affect audience emotions. In all, if you are searching for an entertaining horror Malay movie, Kum-kum is it. It's scary and also fun at the same time! :)

Ok, enough said. I don't want to spoil the excitement by telling you how the story goes.. So, here's my rating:

Plot: 4/5

Argghhhh scale: 4.5/5

I'm so glad that we watched this kum2 instead of journey to the mysterious island (Ayman wanted to watch this). and i'm so glad that Ayman enjoyed Kum-kum movie as much as me.. if not i'll feel really guilty. Why not mysterious island? only 1 reason, i dislike The Rock.... huehue..

The greatest award that i've ever received in my entire life is... my family!

This is the truth.

More than anything in the world, I love them most.

Because of them, I believe I can achieve almost everything in the world.

Abah and opah believe that I'm better than anyone else in the world

...although i'm obviously not.

Mama and tok believe that I can do all kind of tasks

..although i'm clueless most of the time

To be honest..I know that of my carelessness or lazyness, i've failed to meet their

expectations quite sometimes..

But because of their positive vision, high hope, i have always always pushed myself and worked hard. Even at kindergarten I worked hard taw..haha..

Until one day, Abah's & Mama's doa has been granted.

I'm just a language student and receiving the award is like a dream. Alhamdulillah. Thank you Allah for everything that you have awarded me with. I'm begging you, please3 dont take anything back from me.

My most favourite poem

This poem was especially written to be submitted as one of my assessments (literature subject if i'm not mistaken) during Asasi TESL program. We worked in pairs and Sakinah was paired with me :)

Although it was not as good as others', 'The Ugly Ducling' was my motivation during Asasi years. To me, this short poem is very close to my heart. I can even imagine myself being the poor duckling. A naive person who has to put a lot of effort to find her true destiny.

Yes, I realised that I have to work hard to achieve all my goals..in life and hereafter.

The Ugly Duckling

Hatched from an egg
was a darling duckling
But he was different from all his siblings
So they called him the ugly duckling
What he does wrong, he was wondering
Poor, little darling duckling!

Hideously proportioned, the Spanish duck said,
How little duckling’s heart went to shreds
Waves of sadness swamped his heart
He cried and cried and cried out loud
“Oh, why was I different from the lot!”

With feeble wings flapping hard
With faith and hope soaring high
Flying high above the sky
To find what’s in his store of destiny
To find a place where he belonged
A place that he could call home.

Threatened by the hunters
The ugly duckling fled for his life
He needed to get away to survive
Oppressed by the tom cat and the hen

Stepping into a new world

I'm now stepping into a new unknown world.

Without knowing the challenges awaiting, my heart skips a beat every time I think of it.

Being the first child, I surely can't depend on my parents forever. I know that I have to do this..sooner or later. And now, the opportunity is wide open. It's finally confirmed.

Pushing my anxious feelings aside..

Alhamdulillah, Thank you Allah. Syukur ya Allah. I passed the big interview mentioned before and manage to secure a job :D

The responsibility will be on my shoulder starting from the 4th of July 2011. At the age of 21, I'm offered an executive post, group communications. Yes, I'm extremely happy and excited and not to forget.. nervous.

As the holder of 'Bachelor of Applied Language Studies (English for Professional Communication)' I know that people may have high expectations of me. Honestly, I'm not perfect and I'm still learning. Being a person with no working experience (except for the 3 months internship), I know that I have to learn a LOT. Knowledge has no boundaries. There are so many things in the world that I need to discover and learn.

For the time being, I have to be/act more matured (proven to be the toughest), be more calculative, avoid carelessness and most important I need to keep improving my self as a whole.---oh, and change my blog header.

haha.. I know that I think tooo much but hey, I'm nervous ok. It's my first time and I'm officially an adult now (nanti mesti dah xdpt duit raya, silap2 kene bagi pulak T_T )

Alhamdulillah, my journey so far has been very smooth. Everything went according to plan. Regardless of my dilemma after receiving the SPM result, my decision to further studies in Asasi TESL was never a mistake.

To all my little brothers and sisters out there, follow your heart and have a strong believe in your own self capability. If you have a strong interest in a particular area and you know that you can perform well in it, don't be afraid to pursue your dreams. I did.. and I'm perfectly content with what I've achieved today :D

Insyaallah, this would be the last time I get to feel the nervousness and the anxiousness of receiving THE RESULT.

2 Semesters of Asasi + 6 Semesters of Degree = 8 times of checking result experience

I can be considered an expert huh?

As an expert, I advice you to go to bed and have some sleep. When you wake up in the morning, directly check your e-mail - the e-mail which you have registered with UiTM. Less stressful.

If the result is not sent to your mailbox, then only you go to the student portal and check.

Whatever it is, congratulations in advance to all my friends all around Malaysia! I know that you have given your best.

Super 8 Movie Review

Yesterday, I managed to persuade one of my best friends, Hasinah, to accompany me for a movie.. Insidious. Ahyad said that the movie was very scary and thrilling. I was very eager that I made early plan with Hasinah to Bkt Raja. However, we discovered that the showing period had ended. Alaaa..very2 dissappointed.

Thus, to cover up for the disappointment, we decided to watch another movie.

Usually, I'm quite picky on movies to be watched. To date, I have only watch less than 20 movies on cinemas. And yes, this time, I bought the movie ticket without knowing what it will be about..

SUPER 8

The poster doesn't tell you much right? Hmm.. It seems that the two big names really are powerful enough to attract movie goers.

The summary

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspects that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined source

The review

The first part of the movie tells the audience on the background of Joe Lamb (Joel Courtney) --the friends and their horror movie project. In my opinion, most of the dialogues used by the young actors sounded very natural and funny.

I love the train scene :)

I really wish that I brought Ayman (my 7 year old little brother) together so that he can watch the coolness of the effects. However, Ayman is a diligent student who'll never agree to skip school without valid reason..huhu.. Sometimes, he even acts more mature than me! (poyo sungguh..haha..its ok to write about him here, he doesn't understand English much)

This train incident leads them to the mystery of an unknown creature.

In all, I enjoyed the movie so much. Also, the movie plot can be easily enjoyed by the whole family.

There were some unexpected scenes and some scenes were quite thrilling with good sound effects and graphic techniques.

Also, you will be sorry if you don't wait until the credit roll ended. They actually include the short zombie movie that was acted, filmed, and produced by Joe and his friends. The short movie was kind of cute and funny!

Although this story promotes love and friendship theme, it is not as heavy neither adventurous as A.I.

Although i'm a bit scared of heights, I did enjoy the enthralling views of the trees, hills, waterfalls, sea and small islands :)

Actually, we hopped on 2 islands only. Pulau Beras Basah and Pulau Dayang Bunting.

The journey to the island itself was very intriguing. The boat driver manoeuvred the boat like a drifting car. haha..

I love the view sooo much! we passed many small islands and they all looked extremely pretty.

Sitting at the front part of the high speed boat was so much fun! Imagining self as Sinbad..haha

there were hundreds of eagles (i think) when we came!

they all looked so strong and elegant snatching the chicken fat from the seawater

at Pulau Beras Basah or the Wet Rice Island. lol!

The water was crystal clear and calm. Lots of colourful fish playing under the concrete structure.

This island got its name after a rice cargo ship sunk in the nearby area. The wet rice was found on the island shore hence the name :)

Initially, the hat was blown away from kak isha's head and fell into the water. Luckily, taufeek managed to save the hat from drowning. double yeay!

Mission 30 Day 3: Your idea of the perfect first date

Ok, back to the title. To be honest, I don't have any idea on how a perfect first date should be.. haha..

For me, the perfect first date would be the first date after marriage. ehcehh.. (yes, i'm giving a safe answer)

Mission 30 Day 2: My favourite movie

This is supposed to be posted yesterday but the since the blogspot was under maintenance, i am posting it today :)

My most favourite movie is A.I. or Artificial Intelligence. For me it is one of the greatest movies of all time.

I'm sure that most of you have watched A.I.

The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg an extraordinary man with a critical mind.

A.I. gave a huge impact on me.

You know, it is very scary actually, knowing that one day, it might be possible for robots to have feelings just like the human beings.

In the movie, a bunch lot of people just couldn't accept the fact that they have to share the world with the robots. Thus, they were extremely cruel to the poor creatures.

Creatures that they have created using their own hands..duhhh..

Watching the movie, my heart beats faster and yes, I did cry a lot.

I hate to see that poor robot kid fight for his 'mother's' love.. T_T

The movie was mind boggling, nerve racking, soul shattering and heart wrenching all at the same time. but all in all- IT WAS A GREAT MOVIE!

Currently, my favourite song is Fox Rain (Acoustic) a soundtrack from a Korean drama series 'My Girlfriend is a Gumiho'.

I love the song because it's very soothing. I have a soft spot for songs that have calming melodies.

and..I love the drama too. hehe..

the drama storyline is quite light, there's no heavy conflicts inside so I don't have to cry or hate someone badly.

..and.. by switching on your fan while lying on the floor with your arms and legs open, you can really get the feeling of being a dried fish. trust me!

It will be extremely hard to do practically everything!

they protect your feet, give u comfort and warmth and *sometimes make you taller and more pretty.. haha..

3. Book

i'm an old fashion person who prefers to read stories printed on tree elements

4. Staircase

with the staircase you can have the 2nd floor or even 3rd floor in your house. haha..

Oh God, today I'm asking you something very special:

Turn me into a television.

I want to take its place. Live like the TV in my house. Have my own special
place, and have my family around ME.

To be taken seriously when I talk....

I want to be the Center of attention and be heard without interruptions or
questions.

I want to receive the same special care that the TV receives when it is not
working.

Have the company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is
tired.

And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of ignoring
me... and... I want my brothers and sister to fight to be with me... I want to feel that
family just leaves everything aside, every now and then, just to spend some
time with me.

And last but not least make it that I can make them all happy and entertain
them...

God I don't ask you for much... I just want to live like every TV.

All of the sudden, I think I miss my school years. The years full of fun and exploration.

The first formal class that I went was at Taska Abim Masjid Ubudiah. hehe.. Our free time would be used to play run-and-catch around the mosque. We were often scolded by an uncle for making too much noise :(

During recess, we would have food like nasi lemak or mihun goreng with teh o. The best thing was, sometimes, the pakcik roti would come to us bringing lots of junkfood on his motorcycle and all I would buy was a keropok masuk angin perisa coklat yang dapat hadiah free gigi drakula tu. Although I can't remember much of what I've learnt there, the school was an awesome place for my early education..walaupun selalu kene berdiri atas kerusi sebab tak hafal perkataan bahasa arab.. :(

Sekolah Kebangsaan Methodist Parit Buntar (1997)

The above, ladies and gentleman, was my first school.

When mama had to further study overseas, my siblings and I were transported to Parit Buntar. We stayed with the grandparents for about one year. It was my first experience going to primary school and I went there without my parents T_T

What I love there?: Its FOOD :D I love going to the small window at the side of the canteen and order " makcik, saya nak nasik ayam!". Nasi ayam actually refers to plain white rice with ayam masak kicap banyak kuah yg harganya sepinggan 60 sen. All I remembered was, I never come home with extra cash, even 10 cents. pemboros kan? haha.. *u don't have to tell the world that u really like to eat alia, they knew already!* Oh, besides that, I also love the cosy drawing class :) I had fun fun fun with my friends! In the drawing class, we would sit on the floor and draw on the Japanese table sharing the same bottles of watercolour together.

Most scary experience: Being injected twice for immunisation. Before being called to the school clinic, my friends were all showing their scared face saying "misi mai dah, misi mai dah!!". The naive me didn't know what 'misi' means until I saw what the misi was holding! The injection syringe T_T. Yeah, because I'm a girl, I was injected twice. I really wished that I can be a boy back then! hmmph..

My weird behaviour: I loved to buy hansaplast (plaster yg utk luka2 tu) at the bookshop. One priced at 10 cents..maybe during that time I dreamed to be a doctor. Whenever someone had a small cut, I would happily give a piece of plaster to that person. weirdo..

What I really2 can't forget?: In my class, there was a boy name Faiz (if i'm not mistaken), he's the class monitor. and he told the prefect monitoring our class (kakak senior kot) that of all the girls in the class, he likes me the most! . hehe.. he's quite cute, so I was very happy. kecik2 lagi dah pandai weh, tengok jam pon xreti, kire duit pon salah2!

I went to the sekolah agama in the evening. It doesn't have a canteen yet when I was there. An auntie would ride a bicycle with a push-cart attached to it and fed us with many many junkfood and fried mihun if I'm not mistaken. I rode a bicycle to the evening school, however, whenever it rains, my grandma would ask her neighbour's son-a boy 2 years older to fetch me. I don't know what's the reason since he was also riding a bicycle and not car! I was drenched in rain anyway. lol!

This, everyone, was a part of my experience while being in standard 1. Thanks for reading! :D

INTERVIEWS: aren't they exciting?

Believe it or not, I've been to quite a number of interviews since I was 12. Ok, let's have a look at some :)

1. Prefect interview (SMKS 19) - i was 12
(failed because the interviewer said I don't get enough vitamins-i was very small T_T)
2. MARA (PILN) interview (UniKL) - i was 16
(receive an offer to further studies in ACCA-CAT, not TESL. I rejected the offer since I was already happy in UiTM's Asasi Tesl)
3. Pre-TESL interview (INTEC) - i was 16
(passed! hurray :D)
4. Medsi interview (INTEC) - i was 17
(i didn't know the interview result)
5. SMF interview (kenanga, UiTM) - i was 20
(passed! hurray :D)
6. YLS interview (APB, UiTM) - this month
(haven't received the result yet but the possibility of getting the offer is 0.1% T_T)
7. YTL interview (J.W. Marriot) - this month
(haven't received the result yet)

Answering interview questions are very challenging. It requires you to think fast and give smart ideas. In most interviews, what you have in the paper-the cgpa, the certificates, etc..are not going to help much. Sometimes they don't even bother to look thru them.

They are evaluating you. The way you carry yourself and your spoken English (for interview conducted in English). Believe me, Good English matters!

Although it is better to succeed rather than fail, do not look at the failures negatively. Keep improving your communication skills.

For me, each interview that I attended gave different new knowledge, exposure and experience.

1. Tomorrow is my Pre-graduation Dinner! (i feel old)

2. I had a chance to be interviewed for YSL. (the call was received 2 hours b4 interview and I had to do 'mock teaching')----seriously, i know i would not be able to get the scholarship but it was a nice experience.

3. I have started receiving calls and email for work interviews :)---(thanks to the recent job fair at PWTC and mr brian's recommendation letter)

Scrumptious western food @ Bigfood TTDI Jaya

Hello readers!

If you are craving for western food, this is the place! :p My post today is actually a review on the Bigfood restaurant located at TTDI Jaya Shah Alam. The restaurant is located quite near to Politeknik and Bukit Jelutong and most importantly, the food served there is delicious and not too expensive since it is not located in a mall. Although the restaurant is quite new, it has already captured its own loyal customers. Do expect crowds especially on weekends.

What makes me proud is it is own and operated by the Malays :)

U may seat outside (fresh air) or inside (air-conditioned). We opt to seat outside that day since it was a breezy night. Credits should be given to the restaurant's homey-western like interior design. I love it! oh, the restaurant is located next to wisma ani sup utara btw.

look at the lamps hanging above the dining tables, cute kan? I wish I have one of those in my bedroom..hehe..

There are two options of portion, normal and big portion - the big portion is ideal for sharing :)

This was our second visit and we ordered fish and chips with coleslaw, grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and salad, lamb shank stew, cordon bleu chicken with fries, and mi hailam with seafood.

Hello nawfal! If u're wondering why are these kerepek on the table, a makcik came just now and sold these to us, 3 packs for rm 10.

cheap+good appetiser=banana chips

hurray! mine came first- grilled chicken and tomato served with extra brown sauce and sautéed carrots & celeries. i cant remember the price tapi belas2 lah.

the fish doesn't smell fishy at all. which i like so much! i think they're using good quality fish. and the crispy batter suits the fish perfectly :) (I don't eat cat fish and many other fresh water fish because they smell fishy, i can't even endure the smell of siakap and dory fish). ni pon harga dia belas2 jugak.

this one of the new items on the menu. the cordon bleu chicken. hehe.. I forgot to snap the beautiful condition of the meal when it first arrived. we were too excited to terjah into the poor chicken. The chicken is wrapped with generous amount of cheese and chicken ham and then fried. It's served with coleslaw and french fries. --harga belas2 nak dekat 20.

lamb shank stew served with lots of veges. the portion was quite big and mama can't finish it without our help. haha.. the lamb meat is very tender and soft, maybe because it was boiled for hours before. but it was really easy to chew..(of course la kan..apela aku merapu). however, mama said that secret recipes' lamb shank taste slightly better (i don't know because I never tasted secret recipes')

abah's seafood hailamese noodle with lots of squids and some prawns. i kind of like this also..hehe.. to be honest it's hard to find something that i dislike (besides freshwater fish). the soy sauce gravy is quite thick and tastes a little bit like the sizzling noodle gravy. the noodle costs below rm10.

besides western food, bigfood also serves local food such as various fried rice, fried noodles and others. it's open from noon till 11.00 pm kot, i'm not so sure.

These are the pictures that I recently captured. They were first arranged on the powerpoint slides and then copied to be saved as a picture. Pity me because it's too late that I found out that powerpoint is also a great tool for picture editing-though it can't change the picture colours like the photoshop does.

the largest picture on the left is a picture taken during a lunch treat. we had ayam masak merah, mutton curry (kot) and nasi beriyani. yummy :)

my office environment is very calm and some people may also refer to as scary. usually, not many people are moving around during office hour. the top management area is scarier,the area is huge, quite dimmed with sets of sofa everywhere. no one come upstairs if they don't have any business. then again, it's not scary la alia, it's called sunyi.

meet a jalan-jalan sampai pengsan celebration. I had lotssss of fun on that day :D *SUPER HAPPY*

(I wish i could go outing more frequently with ALL my friends from ALL over the country..but going out sure cost u money-i'm currently saving money for some 'overseas' vacation...ahahaha..oversea la sngt kan)

btw, i'm open anytime for a jogging meeting or library meeting or pasar malam meeting. i miss all the people called friends so much. recently, what i see around are just serious colleagues at work. huhuhu...

no matter how often i visit the i-city, i noticed that there are always something new there. recently my tok cik came and we brought them to this city of lights. one thing for sure, i enjoyed the visit so much that i don't feel bored after hours of exploration..haha.. if i'm not mistaken, i've been to the i-city 10 times already and each time i spent not less than 2 hours there. very tiring i should say but the visit is always rewarding when i managed to capture same really cool pictures there.

btw, i intend to visit the city again when the snowfall machine from korea arrives :D snoowwwyy bebeyh! who wants to join me? hehe..

Are you materialistic?

It cannot be denied that in the world we are living today, money has become a vital necessity to live properly and happily. Be it for accommodation, education, communication, healthcare, food or even public utilities like the public toilets, all of those require us to pay. For that reason, people are becoming more and more conscious about money and this leads to the creation of a materialistic generation.

The huge wave of technology also gives a big impact especially on how people spend to have the most up to date gadgets. Gadgets equipped with the most current technology like the I-phone 4, Blackberry Storm 4, and the new PSP2 are definitely not cheap items and may cost thousands of Malaysian Ringgit. To add, the mushrooming shopping malls in big cities as well as in small towns also influence people to spend more.

It seems that making more money is the only way to support increasing expenditures on most advanced, branded and luxurious goods. Earning money is far more difficult and challenging than spending it. Thus, if the people cannot earn for money themselves, it is a common practice for the women especially to find a partner who can earn lots of money for them. It is extremely hard not to be materialistic especially when you are living in a big city. Money just drains out from the wallet in a blink of an eye. And here is the truth, the cost of living are becoming higher and higher no matter where you live in this world.

There is a famous quote which says ‘it is true that money is not everything but you cannot have anything without money’. Thus, with the non-stop hike in prices of daily goods and other necessities, it is not surprising if people are becoming more materialistic than before.

Looking at the other side, I don't think being materialistic is good. just buy the things that you can afford, but do work hard to get higher pay. what pride do you have in buying and using overpriced items anyway? they are not your creation and they definitely do not last forever. modesty is the best policy. being humble is the key. bertahan alia, bertahan!!

For all moslems, remember that on the Judgement Day, every and every each of our belongings including the tiniest items will be counted and judged (hisab). If you have a lot of things, the longer the process will take. Are you spending your money in accordance to Allah's blessings? You can decide it yourself.

IT'S MARCH ALREADY!

I'm blogging from the office since I have no work to do yet :D

Yes my friend, it's march already.

So far my internship has progressed quite well and I had learnt so many things. Have I mentioned that the food here are very nice and cheap.. hehe.. that' what I like most about this place. The food.
(Sorry no picture, I just noticed that my Sony USB cable is broken..i mean 'putus'. Lucky that I can borrow the cable from my brother later.)

Being a student, there is always a never ending list of things that I'm worried about. How about sharing some with you? haha

Worry number 1: My research evaluation tool (need to be corrected and distributed to several language experts)

Worry number 2: The research progress as a whole is veeeerry slow. For goodness sake its March already dear Alia!

Worry number 3: The Long Report for practical training-which I haven't started yet.

Worry number 4: My 'Penyelia' is Dr. P! :( And I'm not quite sure what should I do during her visit later. Do I need to show my log book and all the works that I have done here??

Worry number 5: Too much interesting movies and series in my computer. Should I just delete these distractions?

Worry number 6: The crazy cat at my rental house. Why should I worry about the adorable harmless creature? Because it loves to chase me! I'm going crazy as well. Silly me for being scared of cats, but I can't control myself you know.

Worry number 7: Why do I have so much too worry about? This is worrying me as well.

Hahaha.. I think I should stop worrying and start working on those things I'm worried about.

Live a carefree life, no more!

MY FUTURE PLAN

OK. This is serious. What do I have in mind for my future?

Current status: An intern at MAHB

Although life doesn't necessarily follow the plan that we prepared, we'r not going to loose anything for having one right?

I do believe in qada' & qadar but then again, everyone should try their best and work hard to achieve their ambitions in life.. and consequently the ultimate goal afterlife.

So, my future plans would be:
1. Get a scholarship from uitm/kpt and further my studies in EPC @ APB UiTM
@
2. Work as an educator for a year, gain lots of experience and further studies in the area i'm truly interested in
@
3. Work at a big company for several years, gain experiences, study abroad under the company's scholarship

I prefer the 2nd option actually, but we'll see how it goes :)

Oh, why don't i have the option of finding a boyfriend and just get married? Seems to be more fun and requires less work right?
hmmm...life is not that easy.

To find an ideal man is an extremely complicated and complex task..
I will not ask for more..just someone who dutifully fulfills his obligations towards Allah and if possible a person slightly better than me ..not necessarily in academic.

I think i'd rather wait then.

SEMESTER BREAK UPDATES

I love semester break so much! i wonder who in the world hate holidays.. so far, most of my time were spent doing things that i love. spending time with my siblings and cousins. jalan-jalan..makan-makan..tengok tv..haha.. i know i'm not as productive as u are (to those who are working) but it really makes me happy.

hey i still do housechores u know! oh, i'm a driver and babysitter as well ;)

the japanese style fried mackerel (fish fried with soy sauce. lol!) served on a bed of green worms (ermm.. i mean green bean sprouts. haha..)

the recent things that happened was:

1. mak teh jah's and family annual visit

makteh & family live in sabah, so when they come to semenanjung, it's like an occasion to my family

we went to many places together: klcc~ pasar seni ~kg. kuantan's fireflies~uptown shah alam & i-city

makteh & family together with ateh are now on their quest for exciting places of kelantan and terengganu.

2. an unexpected visit to kl tower (i seriously feel like a vip! haha..perasan tol)

picture taken at the foot of the tower :) --i live in shah alam but we (my family) rarely go to kuala lumpur. dislike kl because of the massive traffic. thus, seeing the kl tower this near made me want to jump!! hahaha..

it was unexpected because it was too sudden. my father called to ask my mother to accompany him for a meeting at kl tower..but as usual my mother brought us ALL (except atiya who is currently at uitm puncak alam..pity her).

it's a fact that (i really do not know why) we like to follow our parents wherever they go. unlike normal children who prefer to stay at home and do their things we choose to be abnormal. haha..

some info about kuala lumpur tower @ KL TOWER

The KL Tower is a 421m high telecommunications and broadcasting tower which actually appears to be taller than the Petronas Towers, because it is built on a hill. Amidst the city of Kuala Lumpur stands the Menara Kuala Lumpur at 515m above sea level. It's a joke, and everybody knows, that the Petronas Towers are the highest buildings in Kuala Lumpur. It also claims to house the highest McDonald's in the World. This tower has an observation deck, where you finally can manage to get a bird's eye view of the city.

i thought the meeting would just be at one of the restaurants located at the foot of the kl tower since you have to pay the entrance fee to get in the elevators..and not to mention, you have to follow its dress code. Being a comot girl like always, i was wearing a sweater over a t-shirt together with my favourite pair of jeans and sandals. aiyoyo..

HOWEVER, my expectation was wrong. yes, the visit became more exciting than wht i have imagined! we were invited & accompanied to the KL TOWER REVOLVING RESTAURANT: a place which i had been longing to go for a very long time!!! hurrayyy :D

My dream come true :)

Moment of revelation: the secret behind the revolving restaurant!
The whole upper part of the tower actually retains its position. the only part that keeps moving is the dining place, the place where tables, chairs, and islands of food are arranged. The elevators area, which is located at the centre of the restaurant/tower remain still and so do the windows for outside view. The windows & the wall of the restaurant/tower do not move at all actually. (i wonder if u understand what i'm trying to say..haha) As you look outside, you'll feel like the whole place is moving, but actually, it's not like that. By looking at the picture above, you can see that the blue and white area. the blue area is the dining are (moving) while the white area is the central area (not moving).

3. I've finally & officially secured a place for internship. ALHAMDULILLAH :)

this is the greatest relieve for me. i've been worrying so much that i will not get a place in time. i didn't expect that getting a placement would be this tiresome and challenging. hurrm.. but i did learn many things just by applying for places. haha.. i prefer not to share what i've learnt here. u can ask me urself if u wanna know ;)

The letter was received on the 16th of december through POSLAJU. thanks uncle postman :)

now i really need to worry about renting a house nearer to the place & think of how am i going to survive living independently or to be exact living far (lah sangat! haha..) oops not far, just away from my beloved family ..and being a working adult. ---which i am not.. YET! rase cuak membara. bersemangat ade la sket (bwt masa skrg..that is)

i made this during the first week of Ramadhan.. found the recipe on the internet. credits to mak teh jah who first introduced this easy-to-make-but-very-delicious pie! got the recipe here

on the same day, we (ayman n me) also baked some egg tarts! ayman has been asking me to make these since after sahur.. no choice then. actually, this was my first attempt doing egg tarts and shepherd's pie. xsangka berjaya..haha...(ketawe gembira..walaupun xcantik tart tu). i got the recipe here

we also love to play barbecue during weekends-these are sweet potatoes
haha! i love sweet potatoes :D

MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS

1.Anggerik International Cafe UiTM Shah Alam (the one at UiTM's International Center)

I like to eat here bcos:
i-the food is nice-taste n presentation
ii-the price is affordable (can be considered as cheap considering the hotel like environment and its good service)
iii-western food is my favourite
iv-it's very near to my faculty. haha..

to all friends who have never been here, do tell me. i will treat u if i've extra money. otherwise, ape salahnye blanje me skali-skala.. ;)

chicken burger RM 5.90 (it has a big piece of chicken chop inside)

i love the fish porridge better :) it has crispy fish fillet! nyumm :)
the porridge comes with yellow ginger sambal

Chili cheese fries RM 5.90 (newest on the menu)
this is a must order! the portion is quite big-meant for sharing :) the fries are topped with chicken tomato sauce (i think it's the same sauce used for chicken spaghetti bolognese) and of course loads of cheeeeeese!! hehe...

the thing that i don't like about the place is.. the operating hours..huhu.
the cafe is managed mostly by students
it only opens on weekdays at 8.30 a.m until 7.30p.m.

2. Asiari, SACC Shah Alam
The food here is quite expensive for a student like me. Nevertheless, indulging yourself once in a while after working hard at school is not a sin right? ;)

located at the heart of shah alam, asiari can be categorised as an exclusive eating place offering food from vietnam, thailand, and malaysia. i think some of the food have been modified to suit our taste-buds.

seafood noodle RM 10 .90(if i'm not mistaken)
the noodle has a distinctive authentic taste that makes it so delicious. slightly hot & sweet, it is suitable for children and adults alike. the seafood combination includes-squid, prawn, and fish. nyumm! u'll be surprise how crunchy the veggies r :)

meat cooked with lotus root served with rice
this menu is quite nice for those who loves sweet and spicy dishes. the lotus root is actually pickled root thus it will leave ur this tongue tingling with its sweet and sour taste. the sauce makes the dish quite spicy and the slices of meat are tender. this dish comes with salad and some sweet pickles (made of papaya-i think).

also, this is nini's favourite :) according to her, she never ordered anything accept for this. haha.. i can't blame her because the menu at asiari is very different from other common restaurants in malaysia. if u ordered something that u are not familiar with, u might be disappointed with what u get. true enough kan?

percik chicken with butter rice
mutton curry with rice
pineapple fried rice
sweet n sour fish lunch set
favourite appetiser-mango shrimp roll

the thing that i don't like about the place is.. the price of the drinks..huhu
i often order chinese tea/mineral water.
if i feel like saving, i'll puchase canned drink at Giant first ..(haha..savingla kot in a way)

indonesian food ..maybe i'm too influence with the cookings of my previous indonesian maids..haha..trust me, indonesia is a food paradise in which you can find food anytime every where! last time we went to medan, many of the hawkers bring along the cooking gas, wok, ingredients and all on their small carts. and believe me they push the carts everywhere to search for hungry people. you may also find satay, rojak, bakso, and even drinks pushcarts! my favourite drink is jus alpokat which is actually the juice made of avocado with chocolate taste with it.

introduced by ateh. extremely good and u'll be full in no time. haha..the currypuffs come together with bawang murtabak (the one that's red in colour). there are three choices of currypuffs-sardines, chicken, and meat. picture taken at perda, penang.

if u don't exist, i may have less of such feelings.

Seriously, many many people have labeled me as a person who has no feelings..oR a person who's always happy. But i'm normal. I do have feelings. Not that they don't exist, they are carefully hidden. Hidden in a place to be forgotten if the feelings are negative.. and hidden so that no one knows if the feelings are embarrassing.

Recently i have noticed something. I'm not good at hiding feelings anymore like i used to be..or maybe i'm just tired of hiding them. (I'm posting my feelings to my not-so-secret-diary now, so wht do u think?)

As fast as I can smile to someone... As easy as I can say 'yes' to someone's request..
i am also easily jealous of someone, easily irritated by irrational reason and most important i can be distracted really easily. Like, i should be focusing on my books now, looking at the long list below.

i wonder what has happened to me

Like yesterday when Kak almas shows me something. It's really2 disturbing. I kept thinking of what i've seen..and my effort now. Truthfully, I haven't done as much as what they had which explains my position right now. After all life is like a big wheel, u'r up if u work hard + lucky and u can be at the lowest position if u get distracted. This is my life and i make decision for myself. Therefore, I AM the one who's responsible for the consequences caused. who else can i blame anyway...

Will i achieve my dreams? Is my determination still strong??

I'm starting to have doubts. I HOPE ALL THESE DOUBTS WILL FADE, SOON.

Ramadhan oh ramadhan, make the best out of us.
Ya Allah, please ya allah, strengthen our determination for success. Let our hearts, our thoughts, and our actions be directed just for you. Only u ya allah, that i love most.

P/s: I admit that i'm manja at certain groups of people that I love but I'm definitely not mengada-ngada. If i want something, i work hard, i pray. My jealousy level is very high, i know. Thanks to jealousy i kept pushing myself.

the importance of being humble

a weird title just came out from my mind. hoho..very weird indeed i do not know whether the title has any connection with what i'm going to tell u. nevertheless, being humble is very important as everyday is a new day.

live ur life humble, open ur heart n open ur mind to learn new things. be sensitive towards others feelings. those r the things that we all hv to learn. being humble doesn't necessarily make u lower than others but if u'r smart, there r lots of things that u can achieve by just being humble. will try my very best to improve myself every single day.

note to self: as long as u r a living thing, it's a must that u learn new things and adapt to new surroundings.

Going to schools makes my passion stronger!

In case u don't know, i was a teslian before. Being one of the 20 TESL Asasians in Malacca, I really enjoyed the subjects and had built the passion 4 teaching during the 2 meaningful semesters. But such hopes to be a great teacher has started to fade since the KPT's SHOCKING RESULT. The decision had then changed my status.

I changed.. Nothing more about teaching, in apb the focus is to prepare myself towards the corporate world.. of what will it be to communicate in the corporate setting..

Since being a plain student with many problems is just not enough for me, i volunteered to be an smf (hahaha..) which then leads me to join in the faculty's huge project, Bahasa & Budaya 1 Malaysia. This project requires all the project members to go to 6 schools and teach and run some modules on the students.

The thing is, through teaching the kids i've realised that my passion for teaching is still there. i actually feel thrilled! compared to talking with adults about serious issues and boring problems, i prefer mingling with children..having fun, keep teaching and learning new things.. yeah, that's nicer.

hmm..now, even though i have recognised some challenges that i will face as an educator, i'm seriously considering to pursue my master in education (TESL). what do u think friends?

This semester break is the most hectic one i've ever had. My daily schedule is always full with activities and my to-do-list keeps growing longer. I may have to travel to Ipoh tomorrow and also have to send letters n all through fax to more than 3 companies. The workload is killing me.

It's funny reading my older posts. Especially posts that had been written when i was in asasi. I used to love blogging, summarising my not-very-interesting life and posting pictures. after 4 long months, i finally got a chance to write with a calm mind. hhahaha..

yeah, my third semester was very2 tough. i can't believe that i had survived the catastrophes.

it's true that i've learnt a lot. besides the knowledge of pragmatics, cross-cultural interaction and prof. comm, i'd also gained knowledge on using mcromedia director, dreamweaver, photoshop, and swishmax. i've never expected that i will learn to create my own website using dreamweaver. the last time i heard the word dreamweaver was during asasi and i had no idea what that thing is. huhu..

my emotions had run very wild and so did others'....
upon reading fatin 'izzati's blog recently, i was surprised to see how this third semester had also affected her.
i believe that u know that unlike me, fatin is very good at managing time. her works were always done much earlier than the submission date whilst i usually would only start doing my assignmnt during the early hours of the submission date. pkul 8.30 pagi nk antar, pkul 2-3 pagi bru bngun bwat. gile btul!
ooooh, i've tried to change this bad attitude but failed. the work stress was the only force that make my brain moves. i was usually too tired by things that always come around me.

however, nearing the final exam and DURING the exam, the work tense transformed into a very huge workload when it also involved producing own website with three photoshop artworks, three swishmax banners, resume, and other many many things..(you will not be able to guess how many hours that i've spent on the comp. doing this tiring work). adoi!

thank god i have a very2 collaborative, supportive, productive, and creative group for mip! if not, i would possibly die. thank u so much ninie, hasinah, tun, and kak ita. i'm looking forward towards producing a complete multimedia instructional package (mip) with you guys. (hoho, just be positive alia).

having no study week made things worst and..
finally, i only managed to gather 2-3 hours to study the book before every examination except for the last paper. i repeat, every! it's a miracle if i can get B for all the subjects, don't mention about getting an A.

i'd also met with a terrible car accident on the 1st of october (i'd rather not tell the whole story) but dont worry, i, with the other two passenger -hasinah n kak ita- were not injured. though the wira car that hit us was terribly damaged-it had to be towed. it was a nightmare and still is.

believe it or not, the cats in kenanga (the block where most of my classes are located) play significant roles in giving me a terrible semester.

like fatin, i would also like to declare that this semester was the most depressing, tiring, and frustrating semester. the only think i can do is, i will try my best to make my fourth semester a brighter one.

will be travelling to parit buntar tomorrow. i'm very excited because this will be the second time i travel in a train (the first was when i was six). i miss my grandparents soo much and my family wouldn't be able to come back during raye haji since Atiya will be sitting for her spm. also desperately need to get away from shah alam for a while.

for graduating my third semester, i bought myself a new laptop. (xboleh blah, i know. haha..) i finished my last exam on friday and bought the new comp on saturday. yeay for me! it's an asus that has a cool touch pad. 25% cooler than body temperature, it says.

four

insyaallah i will be attending a camp on 23-25 of Nov. in PD together with fatin, tun, ida n other apb students (apb is my faculty's name). it's a leadership camp and the camp will surely reminds me of BTN n u guys-the asasians :)

also, when i checked my mail just now, i read an email that is burdening my mind..

i was frustrated giler bcos the feeling of being left is certainly not good. i mean the feeling is very bad. (secretly praying that they would cancel the trip if they really wnt 2 exclude me. )

To begin with, i can sense the future procrastination and self pampering that i will soon be doing throughout the whole semester. AND THIS IS NOT GOOD! n much too dangerous for my CGPA.

~~~oh, please believe me that living in own house is the biggest dugaan ever!

Starting from now, i will make it a point to do the given assignment FIRST before heading home. (as mama has suggested)

p/s: berasa ketakutan hanya setelah mendengar penerangan dr othman tentang subjek WEB-ENABLED MULTIMEDIA E-LANGUAGE PRODUCTION

We finally got a class at kenanga..all the classes there used 2 be the students' dorms. it's fortunate that this old building had been painted new. if not..haish

The best thing about uitm is its libraries. i'm not sure yet how many libraries r there in the campus but all i can say is: there are practically books on everything that u can ever think of. i guess that is one of the benefits learning in a university which offers endless list of courses.
many courses=maaany people+maaaaaaaany books! =) heaven!

Talking about Shah Alam main campus, today is my first day driving on my own to class. The experience was quite scary as i'm not an expert..huhu.. there were soo many cars and i'm sure the number will never decreased.. so i've to just live with it (unless i want 2 take the bus which would be very inconvenient as the 15 mnutes journey might end up to 2 hours or more)

There are so many things that i want to explore and i just cant wait to jump into the olympic size swimming pool..hehe.. (planning 2 go with tun as soon as she brings her swimmng suit frm PD ;))

I am currently trying my best to adapt myself to this new hectic environment and is really hoping that things will get much better 4 all of us :)

because a new semester is about to begin..yeay!!

in fact, i'll officially be a third semester student in the next 3 days. wow!!

- i'm nearer 2 the graduation..lol
- i can meet my friends again :)

First thing first, thank you so much for these nice people who had wished me Happy Birthday. U know who u are..n i really. i mean REALLY appreciate the fact that some of you do remember my birth date. With all my heart, thanks!

This is the last year that i can include the number 1 in my age as in '19' ..after this..i have to say i'm 20 when people ask. hoho.. when i was little, i always think people who r in their twenties are very matured and all.. OK! lets not think about it now.

we even had a breakfast with dr mazli on my b'day (it's another long story).

i hope..really hope that i can be as happy as i am forever and ever. which is sadly..impossible.
therefore, i will definitely treasure every moment in my life =)

yes. considering that Tok Timah has 9 children and 5 step children who are all married and have their own children, this family days had managed to gather 4 children and a stepdaughter..which is only a small part i should say.

however, we had succeeded in giving a good headache to the house caretaker, thanks to me and my cousins! ;)

I must admit that i felt a little awkward looking at the gate of a school that doesn't belong to me anymore.. but this feelings faded easily upon looking at my schoolmates. izuana, fareha, maryam, irfan n syanidzam.
p/s: the others came late..haha..we had to go out and usher them in.
and us..even though we are now students from various universities studying different courses.
we will always have a similarity.

we share the same school experience :)

yeah, once again i felt that i'm still a part of this school thanks to the warm welcome from the teachers. hehe

the teachers' day assembly was held at the new tapak perhimpunan, located at the new block and the place was quite crowded.

"eh, macam mati hidup balik jumpe kamu semua ni. ingat dah lupe kat kte dah."
(therefore, to all my friends: go and visit ur teachers, i'm sure that some of them must be missing u..hehe)

haish, i'll never ever forget my teachers. insyaallah, will do my best to make them proud.

Last year, on this exact date i was still struggling damn hard learning how to drive a manual kancil car. I was too tensed at that time and there were so many reasons that led to a serious hatred towards the driving instructor

haha.. It's really kind of funny to think about my driving experience now.

In one of the YM conversations with hud, he had even suggested a plan to sabotage the kancil car by patahkan tongkol gear tu ke or langgar kreta kat dpn utk bgi instructor tu plak tension.haha

*thank God i didn't execute any of the plans. *

now i realise that my instructor ridiculously harsh method of teaching is vital so that i would be extra careful on the road. Thank u uncle tee :), my driving teacher. Happy teacher's day!

Reminiscing on my childhood time learning in taski abim, i still remember 1 of my young teachers cikgu ina. She was very nice and kind and i know that she loves me as i can still feel her love up until now. She gave me a big pencil box as a present for getting the 1st place in class. And 1 fine sunny day, she even had took me for jalan2 naik komuter!! (the commuter service had just been introduced at that time) n treat me for kfc. Ya allah, i was very excited and happy to be by her side!

If only she knew that i miss her so much.. Happy teacher's day Cikgu Ina:)

I can not describe my feelings on the first day that i entered into 5 Intelek (the second class in sks20). I was in a very confused state . The people that i know (my PTS friends) were not that many and they seemed lost too in the sea of unknown new classmates.

SUDDENLY came in a woman with a loud voice and garang face.
"kamu semua kemas beg sekarang jugak pindah ke kelas sebelah!"
"huh?? ape yg telah berlaku ni? ade rompakan ke?"
that might be what i may be thinking at that time.

The result of that incident was, all students from 5 intelek were placed in 5 Cemerlang (the first class in sks20) and all students who were supposed to be learning in the first class were placed in the second class. That is Pn saadiah, she would do anything as she pleases and please do not go against her words if you want to be alive. haha..

At last i found out that the reason she switched us was she wanted to give more attention to 5 intelek students as all budak lompat were placed in that class. However, the school had assigned her to teach maths n bm to the students in the first class and only maths subject to the second class. Therefore she did the drastic action. woo owh!

In her class, i had been given denda for so many times
among the denda:

+ kne pindah gi klas yang pling last sbb xsiapkan hmwork (ingatkan pindah gi klas tu slame-lamenye.. dah nangis cm org giler dh, nasib baik utk 1 hari saje)
+ pindah lagi utk kali ke2 sbb xsiap hmwork jgk tpi utk 2 jam je. pastu cikgu dtg peluk and bwk gi klas btul balik :')
+ kne rotan together with the entire class sbb bising (sakit giler!! pecah berderai jdi pendek pembaris panjang tu apb smua org tlah dirotan)
+ pastu kne rotan lagi ramai2 sbb bising kat bilik KH. wawawa..

pn saadiah jaafar ialah orang yang bertanggungjawab dalam membentuk saya menjadi insan yang berusaha keras di dalam hidup.

she had also shown me the right direction in life and most important, she remains to be one of the teachers that i admire a lot even though years have passed by. Selamat Hari Guru Cikgu Saadiah.

things became much harder when i entered menengah tinggi. it was quite difficult for me to learn something that i couldn't figure out the purpose.

therefore i often asked questions like these to my teachers:

cikgu, knape kne blaja pengamiran? kte guna ni utk ape? (addmath)
cikgu, mol dgn molekul ape beza dia? (kimia)

because life was difficult for me, i try my best to make others life difficult too!

therefore i would like to give my highest gratitude to the wonderful people who have saved me from drowning.

Pn. Naaimah-cikgu bio form 5 yg dirindui. sngt penyayang, dedikasi serta sentiasa mnasihati.
Cikgu Jai-my young indian tuition teacher who loves to laugh at my questions. A very hardworking and determined teacher.
Pn. Kamisah-my class teacher. a wonderful ustazah who would always sooth my heart dgn cahaya keimanan in pendidikan islam class.
Pn. Maimunah-the addmath teacher who always showed a calm and relax expression when teaching difficult addmath equation and solution. she did give the idea that addmath is easy..but when i went back and tried the exercises given, adoiiii. stngh jam 1 soalan.
En. Kamali-the straightforward physics teacher. eventhough he didn't chatter much in class, i know that he's very concern about us.
Cikgu Samy-my physics tuition teacher who often blamed me for delaying his teaching schedule. i only asked many questions, nothing else..hihi.. his step-by-step explanation sometimes made simple things seemed complicated. however, i had understood many things with his help as i could ask maaaaany questions to him.

also to my classmates who had done a huge favor for me by being tutors without salary:-

there are actually three main reasons of putting 'finally' as the title for this particular post.

1) finally, we will be moving from puncak perdana (the one of the most 'ulu'est area in shah alam, perfect place for studying purposes) to the Shah Alam Main Campus.

I must say that i've mixed feelings upon hearing this news. Mind you, this is a BIG news!
we are MOVING!

Staying in puncak for 2 semesters has taught me many things.

i've learned the skills of long distance driving by travelling to and fro puncak and now i'm a confident young driver (i don't dare call my self a good driver yet based on my brothers and sister destructive comments..haha..)
i've learned that doing last minute assignments are better than doing them early without giving enough focus (do not follow this act).
information system is an interesting area to study in (most of my housemates are students of this faculty)
nothing is free except for friendship. you can be friend with all the people you met and none of them will charge you for being your friends. seriously i love you guys. in fact, my housemates are one of the reasons that make me feel sad to move.

hanisah: the girl of few words. take care of your health and plug in the mosquito liquid thing to chase the aedes mosquitos away :). i love u!

ainol: always the most problematic person in the house. haha.. just kidding :) no, you are a gifted person that can make people laugh until their stomachs burst just by telling a story. don't be stressed over small matters k. i love u!

...but it couldn't be avoided as we do not belong here. as you've been informed, our faculty is actually located in the main campus.
for the sake of learning convenience and accessibility to more books and references, we have to pay a very high price. being distanced from u guys, the wonderful friends that i love.

2) finally, i will sit for my last exam paper (language and society) this monday. this will be the end of my second semester. hurray!!! holiday is heavenly great :)

and

3) finally, I WILL BE LIVING IN MY OWN HOUSE
together with all my family members of course as my housemates..haha

yes, since before i entered Asasi TESL, this was the main reason of choosing uitm as my university .. i want to stay here in shah alam to be exact, in my house. and it seems to be that i have finally achieved that objective.

haha.. what to do.. i was very childish at that time.

dear readers, i really hope that you can feel the mixed feelings that i'm having. i've never expected that i'll feel sad upon leaving puncak. but then i feel extremely sad..

though in writing books we must end a chapter first before a new chapter can begin, i choose to be a disorganised writer in arranging the story of my life. i would not divide the episodes in my life as in chapters in books where i've to end a story before a new story can actually be written. but i will just store all the memories about the past and the present together. with lots of commas, but no fullstop.
